As a result of thousands  of collected signatures and the request  of the  public, Maltepe Municipality opened its 11th open air market  in Girne district. Mayor of Maltepe Municipality Ali Kılıç commented “Our real aim is to serve the public. I hope the market will be beneficial to our  public”.

At the opening of the open air market Mayor of Maltepe Municipality Ali Kılıç, was accompanied by Republican Peoples  Party’s Borough President Zeynep Babacan,  Anatolian Side  Chamber of Marketers President Mehmet Emin Yarar, Girne District Administrator and many of the districts  residents. The market which covers  Girne Districts, Nehir Street, Mutluluk Street and Reyhanlı Street and which is 800 metres  long, will a source  of  income for  nearly 200 marketers and will serve 15 thousand residents.

Mayor Kılıç commented “Our main aim is to serve  our  public. We have been talking about this project for a long time. When you use good will resolution of problems become easier. I frequently get together the marketers and chat. I know its difficult occupation. So I would like to thank them for their efforts.  I hope the market will be beneficial to our  public.
